Ron Paul is doing it again! After his record setting fundraising day on November 5th, when he raised more than $4.3M in just 24 hours, the Paul supporters are out in force again today. As of the writing of this article, at 9am eastern time, Ron Paul has already raised almost as much as he normally raises in an entire day!
One of the neatest aspects of all this fundraising hype is that none of the fundraising pushes have been organized by the Ron Paul campaign. They happen independently. And boy do they happen! For instance, an independent Ron Paul supporter set up a site devoted solely to the purpose of graphing live statistics about the Ron Paul campaign. Using this site, you can see a live feed of fundraising activity as it happens. For instance, here is a link to a graph showing how today's "Money Bomb" compares to an average day.
With Ron Paul steadily rising in the polls, the campaign is confident that they will meet their $12M fundraising goal by the end of the day. But that remains to be seen. Will Ron Paul supporters shock us all again today? I guess we'll know the answer to that question in about 18 hours.
After today, the next big push is to set new records for fundraising on December 16th, in commemoration of the Boston Tea Party. This event also seems to be off to a great start judging just by the RSVPs on the Boston MeetUp.com site. Some supporters are even working on raising money to bring a blimp to the Boston Event.
With Ron Paul's supporter's energetic grass roots efforts, it will be interesting to see just how far this once obscure candidate can go!
